This is a rare, high quality mahogany and marquetry display cabinet by the renowned English maker Shapland & Petter of Barnstable. Although very Art Nouveau it is early enough to still be influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement. The quality of workmanship is outstanding.
The central section is glazed with original bevelled glass having a decorative cornice above an openwork plated-metal panel of stylized snowdrops. Retaining original velvet lining and glass shelves to display area. Flanked by cupboards below open shelves having original bevelled mirrors to lower shelves and a gallery with Voysey influenced cut out hearts to upper shelves. The doors, frieze drawer and top cornice are inlaid with stunning stylized lilies and butterflies in fruitwoods and mother-of-pearl. Even the door furniture is of high quality being sinuous plated-metal. Shapland & Petter makers marking to lock. In wonderful original condition. Approx. height 76 inches (193cm), 48.5 inches (123cm) wide and 19 inches (49cm) deep.

A very large statement vase by the Austrian pottery Julius Dressler, Bohemia. Mottled green matt colour with dark green gloss highlights, the sinuous handle flows from the base and turns into a stylised tree which is entwined around the top. Makers steeple mark to base and numbered. Condition is very good. Approx. height 17 inches (43cm).

Dark oak stick/umbrella stand with a cut out hole to both edges. Apart from one side panel has opened on the central vertical join the condition is good. Drip tray has been painted later in an appropriate green. Approx. size 26 inches (67cm) high x 13 inches (33cm) wide x 10 inches (26cm) deep.

Large brass and copper bowl with riveted edge band. Condition is very good. Approx. size 11inches (28cm) wide x 3inches (8cm) high.

Contemporary silver brooch in the Art Nouveau style. Good quality with sinuous leaves. Safety clasp to rear. Condition is very good. Silver mark to rear. Approx. size 2 inches (5cm).

Small contemporary brooch finished in a gold colour with enamel detailing to face. A very pretty little brooch. Safety clasp to rear. Condition is very good and new. Approx. size 2.5cm high.

Lovely metal necklace with green glass and black enamel detailing. Condition is very good. Approx. drop 10 inches (26cm). Matches earrings MJD324 (below).

Lovely large contemporary metal brooch in the Mucha style with the image of a maidens head surrounded by foliage. Condition is good and new. Approx. size 3 inches (8cm) x 2.5 inches (6cm).

W.A.S. Benson style good quality copper hanging lamp with original cut glass shade. Possibly a Benson although unmarked which is not unusual for Benson lighting. Will need re-wiring. Condition is very good. Approx. size: drops to total of 14inches (36cm).
