Beautiful bronze bust of a lovely young woman. Signed by the artist, signature is indecipherable. Condition is very good. Approx. height 8 inches (20cm)

A French gilt bronze figure, of exceptional quality, modelled as a pretty lady in an elaborately decorated dress with painted enamel flowers and lace. She is standing on a stepped verdigris marble base and measures approx 11 inches high. The base bears the engraved signature of P. Phillipe and the condition is excellent.

Wonderful bronze of a beautiful woman signed 'Van der Straeten' with the foundry coin seal of the 'Societe de Bronzes de Paris'. Straeten was born in 1857 in Belgium. He moved to Paris gaining a very good reputation for works of beautiful Nouveau figures. Condition is very good. Approx. height 9.5 inches (24cm).

Entitled 'Victa', circa 1900. This is a stunning top quality bronze bust by Villanis, and is signed in the bronze - and also bears the 'Societe des bronzes Paris' seal. Condition is very good, but does have a chip on the back of the Rosso marble base. Approx. height 8.5 inches (22cm). Email me for more pics quoting ref number.

Lovely nouveau bust of a French maiden with long flowing hair and detailed costume. Very good quality, signed 'Delegrange'. Leon, Noel, Delegrange 1872-1910. Born at Orleans 1872, he was killed in an air crash nr. Bordeaux in 1910. He studied under 'Barrias'. Exhibited at the salon des artists Francaise in 1900-1901. Condition is very good. Approx. size 6.5 inches (16.5cm)

Wonderful bronze bust c1900 mounted on a green marble base. I believe this piece to be 'Javotte' by Emmanuele Villanis although it is signed 'Moigniez'. This same piece with a different base, signed by Villanis is shown in the Schiffer book of artists and she has the unmistakable features of the Villanis females. She has a fine beautiful face and textured headscarf. Please refer to my 'sculptors and artists' section for more details on the artist Villanis. Condition is good. Approx. height 9.5 inches (24cm).

A wonderful figure of a young woman dressed in medieval/pre-raphaelite costume. Signed to the base 'Veeck'. Charles Veeck, born in Idar, Belgium in the first half of the 19th century, he moved to Paris and became a naturalised Frenchman. He studied under Marcellin and L. Cogniet and exhibited figures and groups at the salon from 1861 to 1894. He died in Paris in 1904. The photo does not do her justice, please email me for more photos. Condition is good. Approx. height 15.5 inches (40cm)

A pretty bronze bust - signed F. Gual - although indistinct. The lady has a headband with blue, red and green coloured stones inset into the bronze, and they are repeated around the yolk of her dress. She is mounted on a dark brown shaped bronze base, and to the front of the base there is a bunch of Iris's and Bull rushes. I would date this bust at about the turn of the century to 1910 and she measures approx 6.5 inches high and the base is about 5.5 inches by 3.5 inches. Condition is excellent apart from the tip of her nose which is a little flat - possibly having suffered a knock to the end. Please email me for close-ups.

Beautiful bronze art nouveau bust of a pre-raphaelite style female. signed to rear 'delagrange'. wonderful quality..she is placed on a marble base. One of my favourite pieces! Condition is good, some ware to patina on nose and chin showing bronze underneath.
Approx. height 5.5 inches (14cm), base length 5.5 inches (14cm)

She obtained a honorable mention at the Paris exhibition in 1900 and a bronze medal in 1913. She died at the grand age of 90 on January 21st 1963.
